What is Yo-kai Watch?

Yo-kai Watch is a term referring to the game software released by LEVEL-5 Inc., or its derivative works, including the characters that appear in them.
It's a quintessential RPG that depicts interactions between humans and Yokai, creatures that are normally invisible to humans, and the resolution of slightly mysterious events happening all around.
One summer day, an ordinary elementary school student named Nate is given a mysterious watch called ‘Yo-kai Watch’ as a thank you from a Yokai named ‘Whisper’ that he found trapped in a ‘Yokai Gasha’.
By using the Yo-kai Watch, one can see the ‘Yokai,’ entities invisible to humans. Thus, Nate becomes friends with various Yokai and steps into a different everyday life.
Yo-kai Watch is currently on hiatus as of around January 2023, after a pause was put on the entire series.
Hmm, so the entire series was stopped or slowed down for a bit? Think it might restart?
I personally feel like it will! LEVEL-5 Inc. has done the same with Inazuma Eleven and the Professor Layton series, having a long hiatus and then planning to restart them in 2023!

Personally, I find Yo-kai Watch to be quite interesting as an RPG. The story isn't super serious or moving, but the exciting game system, battle system, and meeting unique characters really give you a lot of thrilling encounters like a child would experience during summer vacation! Of course, the story is interesting too, but it's more about the excitement and new discoveries rather than being deeply moved. I love it!
