[Metaphor: ReFantazio] The Archetype “Seeker,” effectively the protagonist’s alter ego, is now a plastic model! Its stylish look, balancing soft clothing with the coldness of machinery, is rapidly soaring in popularity!

Have you ever played “Metaphor: ReFantazio” and thought, ”I’d love to take a close, three-dimensional look at this design”? Fulfilling that wish is the ”PLAMATEA Metaphor: ReFantazio Seeker Plastic Model.” The figure brought to life is Seeker, the Archetype of the ”Seeker” lineage to which the protagonist first awakens. Sporting a traveler-like attire with a wide-brimmed hat and a white coat, it boasts a presence that feels as if it stepped right out of the game world. Sculpted by POLY-TOYS, it stands at a non-scale height of approximately 165mm. With a size that balances displayability and three-dimensional impact, you can enjoy Seeker’s iconic silhouette right in your hands.
When it comes to plastic models, you might worry, ”Doesn’t it require painting to look cool?” This kit combines molded colors for each part with pre-painted parts, allowing you to achieve a color scheme close to the character's image basically just by assembling it. Furthermore, the chest area includes both pre-printed parts and unprinted parts, giving you the choice of how to finish it based on your preference. Rather than simply completing it, the process of assembling while thinking, ”Which one would I use?” is a pleasure unique to plastic modeling. The time spent gradually guiding the familiar Seeker from the game toward completion with your own hands seems to be an experience unique to this product.
Once completed, you’ll naturally want to pose it. The main body features articulated joints throughout, and multiple interchangeable hand parts are included. There is also more than just one type of the one-handed sword wielded by Seeker. In addition to the standard handheld version, a sword for riding is also provided, allowing you to use them according to the scene or posture you want to recreate. Furthermore, a display stand equipped with an articulated pillar is included, so you can challenge yourself not only with a quiet standing pose, but also with displays that convey action. Precisely because Seeker is an all-rounder wielding a one-handed sword, simply changing its stance dramatically alters its atmosphere. Trial and error after completion to see ”which angle feels most like Seeker” is another entertaining aspect.
A point I personally find fascinating is that you can enjoy the cape in two different ways. In addition to a plastic cape that lets you fully appreciate the solid sculpting, a cloth cape with built-in wire is also included. With the cloth version, you can adjust its shape, enabling presentation tailored to the pose, such as making it appear to flutter in the wind or creating flow in sync with body movements. Even with the same Seeker, a single change in how the cape spreads can make it look like a figure quietly contemplating its journey, or one just about to step into battle. Unlike merely admiring a fixed sculpt, having room left to create the silhouette yourself is a delightful feature.
And what shouldn’t be missed is the presence of the ”Igniter (Heart).” Archetypes in ”Metaphor: ReFantazio” are not merely forms for battle. In a world inhabited by various tribes, they are what manifest when people face their own anxieties and awaken to the power to transform their bodies. That form and name represent an ideal heroic image harbored deep within their hearts from birth, an existence that can be called the ideal self one visualizes. For that reason, including even the Igniter when bringing Seeker into three dimensions is something that will appeal all the more to those who know the work. Beyond weapons and outfits, you can enjoy items in 3D that evoke the very concept of Archetypes.
The protagonists interact with Followers—that is, supporters—whom they meet along their journey, deepening their bonds with them. Then, by discovering new heroic images from their ways of life, they awaken to other Archetypes. Standing at the starting point of this is Seeker, the protagonist’s initial Archetype. Thinking of it that way, this plastic model looks a bit different from a mere 3D object just for displaying a popular character. The white coat, distinctive hat, one-handed sword, cape, and Igniter. By assembling each piece yourself and posing it as you like for display, you can savor as a physical object the journey as a ”Seeker” that the protagonist embarked upon. Crafting it while recalling memories of the game, and continuing to enjoy changing its poses even after completion—it is a figure where the world of ”Metaphor: ReFantazio” intersects with the fun unique to plastic modeling.
