Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a manga work by mangaka Gotouge Koyoharu, serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” from 2016 to 2020.

The setting is Japan during the Taisho era. The protagonist, Kamado Tanjirou, whose family was killed by “demons,” becomes a member of the organization “Demon Slayer Corps” that makes demon slaying their profession, in order to turn his sister, Kamado Nezuko, who was turned from a human into a demon, back into a human. The story depicts the battle to protect people from the threat of demons, together with quirky comrades.

As of February 2021, the total number of copies of all 23 volumes has exceeded 150 million, and it has been adapted into not only anime but also stage plays and films, making it a famous work not only in Japan but also worldwide.
